While this safari adventure is designed to be quite inclusive. there are a few things that won't be covered. International flights to and from Nairobi. as well as your departure flight from Kilimanjaro. are not part of the package. You'll need to arrange these separately
Additionally any meals or drinks not specifically mentioned in the daily itinerary are your responsibility. This often includes personal snacks, alcoholic beverages, and any meals you might choose to have outside of the planned lodge or camp dining
Visas required for entry into Kenya and Tanzania are also an exclusion. It's important to research and obtain the necessary travel documents well in advance of your departure
Finally personal expenses such as souvenirs, laundry services, travel insurance, and optional activities not listed in the inclusions are not covered. Gratuities for guides and lodge staff are also at your discretion,

Packing for a safari means balancing comfort with practicality. Lightweight, neutral-colored clothing is best, as bright colors can startle wildlife. Think long sleeves and pants for sun and insect protection, especially during early morning and late afternoon game drives. A good pair of binoculars is a must for spotting distant animals, and don't forget a camera with plenty of memory cards and extra batteries – you'll want to capture every moment.

When it comes to health, consult your doctor about necessary vaccinations and malaria precautions well before your trip. Staying hydrated is also key, especially in the African heat. Always drink bottled or purified water provided by your lodge or guide. Remember that wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but patience often rewards the observant traveler. The Great Migration is a dynamic event, so flexibility with your itinerary can lead to unexpected and incredible encounters.

Respecting the wildlife and their environment is paramount. Always follow your guide's instructions; they are trained to ensure your safety and minimize disturbance to the animals. Keep a safe distance, avoid loud noises, and never feed the animals. This approach helps preserve the natural behavior of the wildlife and makes for a more authentic experience for everyone.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Currency: While US dollars are widely accepted in many tourist areas, it's wise to have some local currency (Kenyan Shillings and Tanzanian Shillings) for smaller purchases or tips.
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi can be spotty in national parks. Consider purchasing a local SIM card if you need consistent internet access, or embrace the opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature.
  • Tipping: Tipping is customary for guides, lodge staff, and drivers. Your tour operator can provide specific guidelines on appropriate amounts.

The vastness of the African savanna is humbling. Early mornings often bring a magical quiet, broken only by the sounds of nature waking up. Witnessing the sheer scale of the Great Migration is an experience that stays with you long after you've left.
