Thinking of going on a Tanzania safari? You’re not alone! We understand that choosing from such a vast selection can be more than overwhelming. In this article, we highlighted the most important things to be factored into your travel, such as your budget, what you want to see (and do), your preferred type of accommodation, and your mode of transportation.
Can be in Group or In private;
As a guest, you must consider what kind of safari you wish to be on. For example, you may wish to do your safari in Group or in Private.
We at Safari Soles Tour recommend you do your safari in private rather than in Group, this is because in Group Safari you will have to agree on other tourist demands on seeing the wild animals or the departure time. In Private Safari you will be the one to decide whether to move to another point or not.
Can be Lodge, Tented camp, or Campsite;
In making the decisions on where to stay when traveling to Tanzania, as a guest you should consider budget, location, and accommodation standards as Tanzania safari offers options from budget authentic camping to the most luxurious lodges.
Africa is jam-packed with amazing things to do. If you’re staying in Tanzania, for example, you might want to spend some time climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro or relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar.
Keep in mind, though, that longer safaris give you more chances to spot your favorite animals, get those unforgettable pictures, and even see these animals in action as they hunt for food. Since they are free to roam, you’re not guaranteed to see specific animals, but increasing the duration of your safari will increase your odds.
So we recommend at least 5 days for a safari, if you will be visiting more parks will recommend you take an even longer trip or in-park flights to cut transit drives
Tip: tours heading for 1 night in Serengeti will stay not more than 24 hours in the park, 100% of travelers who opted for these tours say if they could have changed anything they would have opted for an additional day. (see Serengeti safaris).
Tanzania safari destinations are simply divided into circuits, the northern, southern & western circuits which combine attractions you can visit in a region, these circuits are far from each other and would require a flight in between or at least 10 hour drive, so with the short time, you will have to decide the destinations you want to visit so below is a brief elaboration of the circuits & what they are famous for.
Tip: if you want to focus on the great wildebeest migration ( read more on the wildebeest migration) or migratory birds like flamingoes the northern circuit is your option
Note: this circuit is famous and also the most accessible you can fly directly to Kilimanjaro international airport only needing a local flight to Zanzibar for the beach stay.
After knowing the options lets know the costs so you can match what you really want with the amount you are willing to spend, these figures are not very precise but can help to understand the range
